7th Annual Lights of Remembrance Ceremony

The Celebration of Hope and Healing for people mourning the loss of loved ones was held on April 26th.

The 7th Annual Lights of Remembrance Ceremony was held at the Jacksonville Commons Pond Area.  More than 500 luminaries were lit in remembrance of loved ones who have died.  This community-wide event was well attended.

The program included special music by Johnny Thompson and Pat Morton, words of reflection by Chaplain Joel Kettner, special reading by R. Nell Lesan, and presentation of the colors by the New River Air Station Young Marines.  Camp Lejeune Boys Scout Troop #490 and the New River Air Station Young Marines placed the luminaries around the pond.

Many thanks to those who attended, to our volunteers, and to our sponsors for making this a good event.

Sponsors:  Onslow Memorial Hospital, Jones Onslow Electric Membership Corp., Continuum Home Care & Hospice, United Way of Onslow County, Johnson Funeral Home, Saunders Funeral Home, Morgan Funeral Home, and Newton Signs.
